The Ministry of Health recommends that babies were weaned on food and drinks free of sugars, including fruit sugar. Parents are advised to ensure that breast milk or formula, boiled and cooled water form the majority of drinks for children under one year. Fruit juices and other sweet drinks should be highly diluted and is limited to food. They must not in bottles, leading to increased risk of damage to the teeth. All infants should be fluent. Since running weaning babies consume less milk and thus need more liquid. Cooling boiled water is recommended for infants drink this age, but sometimes not babies. Many adult beverages are unsuitable for infants because they may contain artificial additives such as dyes and artificial sweeteners, which are not allowed in baby foods.
However, children's drinks, like fruit juices and other fruit drinks, baby-based, contributing to additional liquid and vitamin C. Commercial baby foods and drinks, not necessarily contain much sugar levels are kept to the absolute minimum necessary for an acceptable taste and most of the sugar comes naturally from the fruit. Baby drinks and juices are a suitable alternative to breast or formula milk or water as many adult beverages, which often are more acidic and may contain more sugar. But in the interest of good dental hygiene to the manufacturer instructions for use and dilution should always be followed.
